Burnout recovery isn’t just “take a break.” When your system has been overloaded, you may need a slower, more structured rebuild—especially if you’ve been carrying trauma, caregiving, or high responsibility for a long time.

3 phases of rebuilding capacity

1) Stabilize

Reduce inputs where possible. Add predictable rhythms: sleep window, meals, hydration, light movement.

2) Regulate

Practice short regulation reps daily (2–5 minutes). Track what helps your body feel 5% safer.

3) Re-engage

Return to meaningful activity in small doses. Stop before depletion. Increase gradually.
